Målsetnad og innhald: Kurset skal gi deltakarane ei djupare forståing av kva relevans kognisjon og semantikk har for teoretiske og anvendte studium av språk. Det har to fokus: kognitiv semiotikk og kognitiv terminologisk terminologi. Den første delen, om kognitiv semiotikk, gir ei innføring i sentrale omgrep i kognitiv semantikk slik han er representert ved nordamerikanske lingvistar som G. Lakoff og L. Talmy, og kontrasterer han med den europeiske dynamiske skulen i semiotikk, representert ved t.d. J. Petitot og P.Aa. Brandt. Den andre delen diskuterer relevansen av kognitiv semantikk for fagspråksstudium og presenterer grunntrekka i den sosiokognitive terminologiteorien til R. Temmerman.
