The 3 track ep-cd is here. Almost. Just a few minor tweaks and it'll be out on our mp3.com-hideout. The band is 2 days away from departure and the tension is almost audible. The guys have spent a lot of time rehearsing for the tour and things are getting compact. Stian, one of goldenboy's slave managers is just back from Cape Town, South Africa, where he spent most of his time in good company with American student advisors preaching the goldenboy gospel. So now there are fans all over the globe.

goldenboy will play a punk-rock (are we punk-rock??? wow!) show at 1880 (an all ages venue in Bergen) in aug , together with local bands McDolly, Late98 and Emeric. Welcome! The band is also playing at Little Big Heart Festival at Kvarteret-Bergen in sept and at the Ride This train Festival at Garage in jan.

All is ready-set-go set for the next US tour. 17 gigs confirmed so far, more to come! goldenboy will do at least 20 shows in 10 (or 9 or 8??) different states. Check out the gig-list and come see us play. We promise you strange accents, weird haircuts and pop-punk-energy!

goldenboy will hibernate once again. Well, at least for two days. The boys go back to Rec 90 Studios from 14 - 16 June to do yet another EP. The "three tracker"will boast bold new material. Song list: [1] 1st Rule of Breaking up, [2] Ocean Beach and [3]Left or Right (and maybe a bonus track...). The name of the EP has not yet been confirmed, but "sending love across the waters" is a likely candidate. The release date will soon be announced, but due to the standard financial problems and the stock market situation it won't be released before the boys are back from the States. Look out for new material on mp3.com though!

goldenboy are due back in the studio in two weeks in order to record some of their new material : once again the final product will most likely materialize as a cd-ep due to the financial situation and the fact that the former no. 1 soccer team in the world, brann, keeps losing and losing : a few songs will also be recorded live in session but are not scheduled for release this time : you might suddenly hear it on the net though : oh, and btw, spring is here :

goldenboy will repeat themselves : three time in one week : saturday kvarteret is once again the venue for a mind-blowing energy boost of a concert : barely back on the ground goldenboy will emerge from the ashes the day after at garage : sunday nov 11th the pop-punkers will play support for the two american bands 'as friends rust' and 'strike anywhere' : a major gig for young goldenboy and a serious attempt to be adopted by the punk-family : thursday 15 nov the band heads for vannkanten ('the waterfront'): a weird combination of a mall and a swimming pool! the event sports around 10 local punk bands so this should be quite an energetic evening :

the band went to stavanger for the weekend oct 26-28th : not to play a show but to record a couple of songs in a studio : the trip and recording session was a helping hand to the wannabe sound-engineer erik who will use the recording as a part of his exam : considering how much the band members hate this city this is really quite a gesture :

A very international crowd witnessed goldenboy's release concert at Kvarteret. Despite the fact that the techno-festival at Fløyen dominated the local press, the "almost on the road" band drew an impressive crowd of 300+ of very animated fans. A kick in the groin to techno lovers was given in the form of a cover version of the hit Dadday DJ. Same song, completely new wrapping. Download the song now!

Stian (promotion manager) and Hassan (in charge of sales/merchandise) are hoping to join the band for the tour. Unfortunately, they are both old, poor, drowning in commitments and coughing blood from responsibility, so nothing is yet certain. Maybe they'll survive a week or two.

goldenboy will start recording a new EP on 20 July with producer Bjørn Ivar Tysse. The album will sport four new brilliant tracks:

2. Pink
3. (Not) Going Home Alone
4. TBA

Mr. Tysse is an experienced local producer and is certain to lift the goldenboy sound to a cooler level then what was the case on "entertaining you girl". Look forward to a rawer and more punky goldenboy!

Departure is set with a hopefully happy take-off from Bergen on 31 aug . Return tickets are open but will surely not be issued before 2 oct . Gigs at The Gypsy Lounge (Lake Forest), Chain Reaction (Anaheim) and Headline Records (Melrose) are already confirmed. The band is also expected to be playing at The Casbah in San Diego (possible kick-off for the tour…) and The Che Café in La Jolla. We are still working like dogs to get more shows. If you want to help us out or have suggestions, advice and hints, hit the keyboard (not the road, Jack) and e-mail us!

double gig and twice as fun?

goldenboy recently teamed up with Stavanger based punk-rockers Shitzoo for a 2 gigs in Bergen and Stavanger. Once again Garage was the place to be in Bergen (read the rave review!), whereas Checkpoint Charlie hosted the rather peculiar concert down south. Very few people had turned up to watch the band do their best live performance ever (according to themselves). Happy with their performance and disillusioned by pathetic oil-town Stavanger, the 4 band members all got completely hammered and ended up in a swimming pool at 7 a.m. Their mothers have been notified. A somewhat rough live recording will hopefully be available on this site within reasonable time.

Stian has spent hours adding goldenboy to the infamous garageband.com website. Little did he know that he had to review 20 songs before he could upload 1 golden song to the site. nils in spain falls mainly on the plains

Our bass-player Nils has taken a well earned break from his Kitchen Sink Reality lifestyle. He left for Spain in the beginning of feband is expected to be back in Bergen at the end of apr so that the band can have an intensive week of rehearsal before the shows in Bergen, Stavanger and Svalbard in May. While Nils is enjoying the Spanish sun, the rest of the band is busy promoting themselves both in Norway and in the States. Gaute is responsible for the Californian Tour and Torkel is trying to get gigs all over Norway (Oslo, Kristiansand, Tromsø and more…).

live recording not dead

Drummerboy BT is now mastering a live record for goldenboy in Vapas Studio together with prouducer Øystein Vatle. The record consists of the best goldenboy-shows done in Bergen and Trondheim. It will not be put out for sale, but you can hear parts of it at this site very soon.

unplugged planned

BT & Torkel is planning to do an acoustic recording of some of the best goldenboy-tunes while they´re waiting for the rest of the members to return to Bergen. You can listen to the result at this site in not too long.

california tour getting closer

The Californian Tour is beginning to take shape. The band will stay in sunny California for at least a month and are hoping to do at least ten shows. 3 shows are already confirmed, one of them is at Al´s Bar in LA where both Nirvana and L7 have rocked their brains out. All Californian kiddy-punkers are hereby invited.

Torkel is using his days & nights to write new songs. His final exam on 5th of apr doesn´t stop him, unfortunately. Two of the new songs are called 'chills' and '(not) going home alone.'

cd for sale in the us?

goldenboy has already sold at least 10 cd´s in California. Sell out? Yep! The band has got in touch with a Californian girl known as Leyla, and she is doing great promotion-work for the band before their trip to the USA. Thanx, Doogieforniafish!

double joint concert with punkrockers

In Bergen and Stavanger, goldenboy will do the concert together with a band from Stavanger called Shitzoo. Shitzoo plays melodic, fast punkrock and the shows at Garage and at Checkpoint Charlie may well kick butt!!

A new recording without a label and a tour to the USA is not very cheap. Therefore, the band has sent an application for some economic support to FOND FOR UTØVENDE KUNSTNERE, KASSETTAVGIFTSFONDET and CATO SKOGSTRANDS MINNEFOND. The response has so far been non-existing….
