Ethical issues in health policy in Sri Lanka
This project started in 1991 and is a collaboration funded by NUFU between the University of Bergen and the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The aim of the project is to establish a resource group for health policy ethics in Sri Lanka
Human rights, equity and health sector reform
This project was funded by TDR from 1998-2000, and is now being continued with new funding from a variety of sources. Three Ph.D. students from three countries work on this project. The aim is to explore the potential of a human rights approach to health and and health care in order to improve the formulation and implementation of equitable health policies
EURO-ELSAV
This is an EU funded project from 1998-2001 on Ethical, legal and social issues in vaccines. The Bergen part of the project examines ethical issues in clinical trials of vaccines in developing countries
CTC-ETHICS
This project, Ethical issues in clinical trial collaborations with developing countries, is funded by the EU from 2000-2003. The aim of this project is to develop a teaching manual on research ethics for researchers involved in clinical trials in developing countries. This project is coordinated from Bergen.
SEAHEN
This project, South East Asian Health Ethics Network was funded by WHO-SEARO until 1999. New funding sources are now explored. The aim of the project is to develop a network, a teaching manual, as well as to conduct research on cross-cultural medical ethics.
EVIBASE
Ethical issues of evidence based practice in medical care and health care, is presently under contract negotiations with the EU and will most likely start at the end of 2000. It is a two year project
European Ethics Network
EU funded Socrates project with the aim of producing European textbooks in applied ethics as well as prepare a European Mastersprogram in ethics. Co-coordinator of the Bioethics part of this project. Funded from 1997 - 1999
