Associate Professor in Computational Linguistics
Description of position
At the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Literature, Section for
Linguistic Studies, University of Bergen, a position is vacant in Computational
Linguistics. The successful applicant will participate in the department's
research and teaching in Computational Linguistics and Language Technology.
The department offers Computational Linguistics up to masters and doctorate
levels, and cooperates with Bergen College concerning a first year degree
in Language Technology. The department and the Faculty of Arts wish to
stimulate further research in Language Technology at the faculty, in cooperation
with other researchers and institutions.
The applicant must have a doctoral degree and provide proof of research
competency in one or more central areas of computational linguistics. Priority
will be given to applicants whose research includes the development of
models or techniques and the programming of systems. Productive participation
in cooperative projects in Computational Linguistics or Language Technology
will be a plus. Attention will also be given to relevant pedagogical experience.
