The Symbolae Osloenses launched a new profile for the 1997 issue, including bibliographical chronicles of various subjects and a regular debate section. For vol. 72 (1997) Peter Brown commented upon his 25 year old book "The World of Late Antiquity", in vol. 73 (1998) Jakov Ljubarski discussed Byzantine literature under the heading "Quellenforschung and/or Literary Criticism", and in vol. 74 (1999) Minna Skafte Jensen addressed the Homeric question by focusing on the the book divisions in a report called "Dividing Homer". Vol. 75 (2000) contains no new debate (but several Homeric contributions), whereas vol. 76 (2001) presents a report by Hans Helander entitled "Neo-Latin Studies: Significance and Prospects". For vol. 77 (2002) we are planning a debate on Roman theatre with a report by Patrick Kragelund called "How was Roman History put on Stage? Time, Space and Panegyric in the Republican and Imperial praetextae".
