The following pages represent an Internet version of the exhibition "Devotion in pictures: Muslim popular iconography" ("Fromhet i bilder: Muslimsk populaerikonografi"), which was presented in Bryggens Museum in April 2000. The exhibition was the result of a cooperation between Department of the History of religions at the University of Bergen, Bryggens Museum and Bergen European City of Culture 2000.

The exhibition was funded by project grant from The Research Council of Norway (Norges Forskningsraad).

The posters and pictures exhibited were collected in 1999-2000 by Ingvild Flaskerud in Iran, Goerill Husby in Zanzibar, Siv Ellen Kraft in Israel/Palestine and Syria, Hege Irene Markussen in Tyrkey, Nicholas Stivang in Egypt, and Richard Johan Natvig in UK.

The exhibition was conceived and developed by Richard Johan Natvig, Department of the History of religions at the University of Bergen, with invaluable advice and practical assistance from Erik Grung at Department for graphical services, University of Bergen, and other good helpers.

The Internet version has been developed by Richard Johan Natvig, Department of the History of religions.
