Ingunn Lunde, b. 1969 in Oslo, is Professor of Russian at the Department of Foreign Languages, University of Bergen. She studied Russian and Classical Philology in Bergen, Bonn and Moscow, and wrote her doctoral thesis on Kirill of Turov's homiletic rhetoric and its Byzantine sources (PhD Bergen 1999). Her scholarly interests include medieval Slavic literature and culture, 19th- and 20th-century Russian literature, and language culture in post-Perestroika Russia. The author of Verbal Celebrations: Kirill of Turov's Homiletic Rhetoric and its Byzantine Sources (2001), she has also published articles on medieval Slavic hagiography, 19th- and 20th-century Russian literature, contemporary Russian language and literature, rhetorical theory and linguistic pragmatics, and is editor and co-editor of nine books, among them Dialogue and Rhetoric: Communication Strategies in Russian Text and Theory (1999), (with Peter Alberg Jensen) Severnyi sbornik: Proceedings of the NorFA Network in Russian Literature 1995-2000 (2000), (with Tine Roesen) Landslide of the Norm: Language Culture in Post-Soviet Russia (2006) and (with Susanna Witt) Terminal Øst: Totalitære og posttotalitære diskurser (2008). During the Spring term 2000 she was a Visiting Scholar at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Harvard University.

Ingunn Lunde is founder and general editor of Slavica Bergensia (1999–), board member of the Bergen Research Foundation and of the Norwegian Association of Slavists.
