"White House Office of the Press Secretary Fact Sheet - For Immediate Release"
-Prohibits all transfers by US persons to the designated persons and organizations (listed below), including charitable contributions of funds, goods or services.
-12 foreign organizations are named along with 18 foreign persons. The order also provided 35 variations of the names (pseudonyms).
-These measures are meant to deny terrorist groups that threaten the peace process access to the US financial system by freezing any of their funds within US jurisdiction.
-These measures are also intended to preclude diversion of charitable contributions to fund terrorism activities by prohibiting the transfer of funds by US persons to these groups.
-The president will soon send to congress a comprehensive anti-terrorism legislation which would strengthen our ability to prevent terrorist acts, identify those who perpetrate such violent acts, and bring them to justice.
The president's action which took effect at 12:01 this morning (1/24/95), provides the Administration with a new tool to combat fundraising in this country on behalf of organizations that use terror to undermine the Middle East Peace Process."

15. Talat Fouad Qasem, propaganda leader of Islamic Gama'at in Egypt. Born 2 or 3 Jun 1957 in Al-Minya, Egypt.
16. Fathi Shaqaqi, Secretary general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
17. Subhi Tufayli, former secretary general and current senior figure of Hizbullah. Born 1947 in Biqa Valley, Lebanon.
18. Shaykh Ahmad Yasin, founder and Chief ideological figure of Hamas. Born in 1931. (Handicapped and imprisoned for life in israeli Prison).
Important Commentary from the American Islamic Group: Please note the following:
1. All the above names and organizations are foreign, the executive order did not include any US organizations or individuals.
2. Although two israeli terrorist organizations were mentioned with Millions of Dollars in assets in the US, along with hundreds of donators, there are no israeli or Jewish names listed under Individuals. Only Muslims were singled out and mentioned. That proves that the listing of the two israeli organizations is just a technicality.
3. Many of the Muslim names mentioned are people in Jail, some are serving life imprisonment, all are poor.
4. Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, who the executive order identifies as a terrorist, is currently in prison in NY awaiting trial. He is not convicted and the jury not even selected yet. That goes to show a planned US Government effort to deny Sheikh Omar any Muslim support during the trial and also it gives you a hint that the American so called Justice system is acting in prejudice to Sheikh Omar and is denying him his basic rights as a defendent.
5. This is the second step of a coordinated plan to stop all Muslim charity work to help Muslim countries. The first step was the passage of the US Crime Bill last fall which gave US law enforcement authorities a free hand in wire tapping, serveilance and access to accounts of Muslims and Muslim organizations. The third step now that we see is for the US authorities to charge
any Muslim or Mosque or Islamic organization with a link to these foreign organizations mentioned.
6. Muslim Organizations which were mentioned are all already black listed by US authorities, so the question is what is new in this executive order? The answer is simple; it is only a precedence for an upcoming assault or crackdown of the US on Muslim activities in the US.
MAY ALLAH PROTECT MUSLIMS FROM THESE PLOTS. HE IS THE BEST OF PLOTTERS.

The attached is a forwarded report of interest to all Muslim, esp. those who watched 'Jihad in America'.
Some lawyers are needed to sort out specific procedural issues and what Muslims in the U.S. (and abroad) need to be aware of specifically in order to maintain legal composture. I don't see this executive order in itself to be all that policy-strong, but the stuff on the ground is what we need to be aware of.
