Lillian Jorunn Helle is the author of numerous articles on Russian nineteenth-century literature, Russian Modernism, Socialist Realism, and literary theory (Jakobson, Bakhtin); she is currently preparing a book on Tolstoi's novel Resurrection. Her doctoral thesis "The Aesthetics of Russian Symbolism: A Study of Andrei Belyi's Symbolist Project" is forthcoming in English translation.
